About Us
Ashram was established in the year of 1934 for the education purpose of students’ residing in the regions between rivers Vapi and Tapi for the Prajapati Community, Navsari within the radius of 5 kms. Earlier the Prajapati community students had to limit their study up to primary level only but then the community leaders from India, SA, Ethiopia and other places grew anxiety for availing facilities of residential purpose for education. The building on Maharani Chimnabai Road, Navsari was purchased by the community leaders from their own funds and ashram was started. Shri Gulabdas D. Patel was selected to act as secretary of this trust. The trust gradually developed. Meanwhile college education also became must. The colleges have started at Surat, Navsari, Billimora. The local students started to take benefit of the colleges in vicinity. This all took us to our establishments as follows
Boy's Hostel in Navsari
New building for boys’ hostel was built at Navsari in the year 1957. This building can accommodate 84 students with common sanitary facility. Other amenities are same as of other Hostels in Navsari and Vallabh Vidyanagar.
Girl's Hostel in Navsari
The girls hostel was started in the year 1994 at Navsari in the old building. This was the result of enthusiastic approach of the trustees at the time of golden jubilee on 20/5/1984. However the girls students have started staying since 1985-86. The new building Shrimati. Maniben Vijaydev Mistry Kanya chhatralaya has been constructed for 4 floors with latest amenities. This has been inaugurated by Shri Vijaydev Mistry our mega doner. This Hostel can accommodate 64 girls students with modern facilities. Mega doner is Shri Vijaydev Ratanji Mistry foundation INC and SPA- U.K.
Boy's Hostel in Vallabh Vidhyanagar
Gulabdas and other members of trustee mandal were visionary and ventured to establish a boy’s hostel in 1971 in V.V.Nagar at the cost Rs.79,000/- only. First floor was then add in the year 2000. This building is now totally demolished and magnificent building is constructed for 117 students. This is the outcome of the efforts of the present president Shri Balubhai V Lad. Which is being inaugurated by Shri Harishchandra V Mistry and Dayanandbhai V. Mistry on 12/12/13. Mega doner is Shri Vijaydev Ratanji Mistry foundation INC 175 lacks and matching contribution of trust 175 lacs.
Girl's Hostel in Vallabh Vidhyanagar
Shrimati Maninben Vijaydev Mistry Kanya Chhatralaya Vidhyanagar was inaugurated by Shri Maniben Vijaydev Mistry herself on 28/12/2007. This hostel comprises of 3 floors and 8 rooms on each floor, accommodating 72 girls with modern facilities. Vijaydev Mistry family is the major donor.
